Post quantum protection for Bitcoin is no longer a far fetched idea. @quipnetwork
Significantly, this solution doesn't require a hard fork, doesn't change the consensus mechanism, and doesn't affect existing assets. It has already been implemented on the Arch Network as an additional layer of security, protecting BTC from threats from quantum computers.
According to @CoinDesk, this is a significant step forward because Bitcoin is already very difficult to upgrade. Instead of waiting for the entire network to change, users can proactively add a layer of protection now.
A rather practical approach: don't change Bitcoin, just make it more secure.
